3-4 months ongoing contract, with scope for progression.
Mondays to Fridays; 9am-5pm
Based in Barnstable, North Devon.
£18-20 per hour
A great and varied role as a part time Housing Options Advisor is required as soon as possible for an ongoing contract, to provide advice and assistance to those seeking affordable housing within the district. The succesful candidate will be case working, and will be expected to consider all customers' housing options, preventing homelessness where possible. Where not possible, to make recommendations regarding a customer's priority and the duty owed to them in accordance with homeless legislation.
Main duties and responsibilities will include: providing housing options and benefits advice, housing administration, customer support, undertaking homeless assessments and interviews, and a knowledge of standard homelessness law is essential.
The role will comprise of three core elements: 1. Triage and signposting 2. Homeless on the day 3. Case officer with booked appointments.
You must have a current CRB within the last twelve months, at least two year's experience within housing advice and welfare benefits, strong knowledge of homeless legislation, and experience in prevention and allocation work.
