A part time Housing Options Advisor is required as soon as possible until December 2008, to provide advice and assistance to those seeking affordable housing within the district. The succesful candidate will be expected to consider all customers' housing options, preventing homelessness where possible. Where not possible, to make recommendations regarding a customer's priority and the duty owed to them in accordance with homeless legislation.
Main duties and responsibilities will include: providing housing options and benefits advice, housing administration, customer support, undertaking homeless assessments, bed and breakfast placements, statistics and providing an out of hours service.
You must have a current CRB, at least one year's experience within housing advice and welfare benefits, and knowledge and experience in prevention and allocation work.
