Senior Statistics and Data Officer

Ref no: MM - 5250 Discipline: Project Worker Region: Leicester
Duration: 2 months Salary: £16 - £18 per hour Job Type: Contract

1. To ensure that school effectiveness data is collected, analysed and disseminated when required.
2. To ensure all information is correctly collected, recorded and analysed.
3. To ensure data is presented in a variety of formats appropriate for the audience.
4. To work efficiently and effectively in pursuit of agreed performance targets.
5. To assist in the Department's strategy for raising educational standards for all pupils in all schools.
6. Must be able to recognise discrimination in its many forms and willing to put the Council's Equality Policies into practice. Be sensitive to the needs of disadvantaged groups in the provision of the Department's services.
7. To develop systems and procedures within the Department to ensure compliance with corporate and legislative requirements and policies.
8. To be proactive in the implementation of the City Council's Equal Opportunities policy, Health and Safety and Environment Protection policies
1. Coordinates the data collection, analysis and reporting system for school effectiveness data.
2. Carries out, and provides advice on, research and information projects.
3. Liaises with other Section, Departments and external agencies as necessary.
4. Collects and analyses a range of data and information.
5. Carries out routine statistical analysis.
6. Prepares reports and publications.
7. Designs, implements and assists in the maintenance of information systems and databases, including the development of procedures in relation to the introduction of various legislative changes.
8. Carries out systems analysis design.
9. Undertakes relevant tasks as part of the team's work programme
Experience:-
At least one year’s experience of working in the gathering, storing and provision of information.
Experience of statistical analysis.
Experience of writing reports and publications.
Expertise in PC based spreadsheets, databases and other office tools.
Knowledge of educational performance indicators.
High level of numeracy, IT skills and statistics.
Experience of dealing with the public.
Experience of carrying out systems analysis.
Experience in designing and maintaining information systems and databases.
Experience of managing projects.
